The neighborhood
Two gates at the edge of the western foothills.
Red Rock Country Club sits near the Red Rock foothills on the western side of the Las Vegas Valley. Its homes are in two gated areas, East and West, and the everyday stops outside the gates are spread in several directions. Downtown Summerlin lies northeast of the entrances. To the south, Desert Inn and Ridgebrook lead to a school and a park. Sahara leads east to groceries, an Italian deli and Sahara West Library.

First, being near Summerlin is not the same as being part of it. Summerlin’s development history says Red Rock Country Club was developed by the Sunrise Colony Company on land bought from the Howard Hughes company, starting in 1998. It also says the community is not technically part of the Summerlin master plan. So nearby Summerlin helps you picture the location, but a home’s own associations decide what its owner is responsible for.
Second, buying a home here is not the same as joining the club. You might want regular golf on the Mountain course with a golf membership, tennis and swimming with a Sports membership, or simply a home you like for its setting and the places nearby. Each choice means a different budget and a different kind of week. Don’t assume a country-club address comes with club activities; ask what the house includes.
Similar names, different places
Red Springs Drive is the street for the community’s gatehouses and club. Red Rock Casino Resort Spa is a separate place on West Charleston Boulevard. Red Spring, in Calico Basin, is a nature outing farther afield, and Red Rock Canyon’s Scenic Drive has its own entrance and rules. Keep them straight, so you don’t mistake a resort restaurant, a trail or a public tee time for something that comes with the house.
On a first visit, start at the gate the home uses, then drive to one nearby place you would go to often. A trip toward Downtown Summerlin tells you something different from a drive along Sahara or toward the Desert Inn schools. The house plus those ordinary trips show you what living here is really like.

Homes & ownership
East, West and the house behind the gate.
The simplest way to sort a Red Rock Country Club search is by its two gated areas, East and West. The HOA’s guest and vendor instructions place the East gatehouse at 2455 Red Springs Drive and the West gatehouse at 2505 Red Springs Drive. Those addresses tell you where you arrive; the drive from the gate to your door depends on the street and lot.
On the East side, Parleys Cone Court is one street to look at when comparing homes. On the West side, Red Arrow Drive is another street to compare. Use street names like these to see where homes sit in each area; don’t treat East and West as price levels. What matters first is how the home connects to the gate it is allowed to use and to the places you plan to go.
Arroyo’s published directions for golfers also mention the West approach. Those directions help if you are comparing homes with a regular golf trip in mind. But West-side houses are not all the same distance from the clubhouse, and living on the West side doesn’t give you a golf membership. Treat where the home is and which activities you want as two separate questions.

Original plans and the home you see today
Beyond the golf, some of the community’s building history is on record. Toll Brothers’ 2004 annual report lists an Avenida Versailles home at Red Rock Country Club. An original plan name can show how a house started out, but a resale home may have been changed since it was built. Check today’s layout against the home’s records, especially when a listing uses a well-known model name for a heavily remodeled interior.
If a listing promises a golf course or mountain view, check it from the rooms and outdoor spaces you would really use. The view from a bedroom, from a terrace and from the edge of the lot can be very different. Notice where the neighbors’ homes and the course sit, too. An East or West label can’t tell you what a given window looks out on.
Be careful with the market numbers, too. Market figures for ZIP code 89135 cover a wider area than Red Rock Country Club, and so do the Census Bureau’s past figures for the ZIP area. The ZIP code’s condo and townhouse figures don’t mean this community has condos or townhouses. To narrow the search, check the type of ownership on each home’s records and compare it with similar homes.

Compare access to homes, golf and nearby parks.
| Place or activity | What you can use | What to check separately |
|---|---|---|
| East and West residences | Two gated residential areas with their own main entrances | Association responsibilities for the home and permission for visitors to enter |
| Mountain course and private club facilities | Golf, sports and social activities under different membership categories | Membership terms for the activities and household involved |
| Arroyo public golf | Public golf, paid by the round | How to book a tee time and which gate to use |
| Nearby Summerlin Council parks | Anyone can use park areas that aren’t reserved | Who can reserve shade structures or use resident programs and pools |

Everyday life
From Red Springs Drive to the places beyond it.
A golf round, a swim or a club dinner
The club’s membership categories treat the private Mountain course separately from Arroyo’s public golf. They also list separate golf, Sports, Tennis/Pickleball and Social memberships. Sports membership covers fitness classes, tennis, pickleball and swimming; Social membership is mainly private dining and club events. Start with the membership you would actually use; the facilities don’t all come as one package.
Oasis Grill and Palmer Lounge are listed among the members’ private restaurants. They are part of club life; the restaurants outside the gates are a separate choice. So a home tour and a talk with the club answer two different questions: do you like living in the house, and would you use what the club offers?
Arroyo Golf Club offers public golf you pay for by the round, so you don’t have to join the private Mountain course to play now and then. Public players still drive in through the community. When you book, ask the course for its current check-in instructions; the HOA requires guests to use a main gatehouse. Playing Arroyo doesn’t give you free run of the private club’s dining and sports facilities.

Coffee and groceries at Downtown Summerlin
Trader Joe’s at 2315 Summa Drive is a good place to start a Downtown Summerlin grocery trip. You can combine its own-brand pantry items and fresh groceries with a coffee stop or a parcel to send. The UPS Store on Lavender Hill Drive adds shipping, printing and shredding to that outing. If a parcel must go out the same day, check the carrier’s pickup cutoff, not just the shop’s closing time.
For coffee with something small to eat, Mothership’s Downtown Summerlin branch, at 1980 Festival Plaza Drive, offers pastries, sandwiches and order-ahead pickup. Its dog-friendly patio is handy if your dog comes along while you shop. Inside, the seating is on tiers, so think about whether that suits a quick stop or a longer one.

Makers & Finders in Downtown Summerlin, at 2120 Festival Plaza Drive, serves a fuller Latin brunch. Its empanadas are also good for taking home; the branch’s ordering menu includes trays, with reheating instructions. A sit-down brunch and a coffee to go are different outings, even in the same shopping area. The ordering site covers several branches, so choose Downtown Summerlin.
On Rosemary Park Drive, Fine Company is another breakfast choice, with housemade English muffins and an egg-and-cheese sandwich. The restaurant also serves dinner. It takes cards and mobile payment, not cash. Nearby, the regular Saturday farmers market at The Pavilion adds produce, bread and pastries to a Downtown trip; check the event listing for the details of each date.
Takeout or a sit-down dinner
Ori’Zaba’s Downtown Summerlin location on Sage Park Drive works well when everyone wants their meal a little differently. Its build-your-own tacos offer soft flour, soft corn or crispy corn tortillas, and pickup is available. You can pick it up around the grocery run without stopping for a sit-down meal.

For a planned dinner, La Strega is on South Town Center Drive near Flamingo. The menu centers on housemade pasta, and you can book a table with the restaurant. Its loggia (a covered, open-sided room) and its dining room are two different settings. Ask about seating when you book, and don’t assume either room will always be quiet.
Farther east on Sahara, Siena Italian Trattoria & Deli is a restaurant with a deli, bakery and market next door. The market sells imported meats, cheeses, dry pasta and sauces, and sandwiches on housemade hoagie or ciabatta bread make an easy lunch to go. You can go for ingredients and something ready to eat, not just to book dinner. The deli and the restaurant have separate phone numbers, so call the right one when you order for pickup.
More grocery stops, pharmacies and a library

Different grocery stores suit different mixes of errands. Albertsons at Hualapai and Flamingo, at 10140 West Flamingo Road, offers grocery pickup and a drive-through pharmacy. Target Summerlin South, on South Grand Canyon Drive, has household shopping, Drive Up pickup through its app, a CVS pharmacy and optical services. They save you from taking every errand to Downtown Summerlin.
Along Sahara, Sprouts at 10000 West Sahara has a sandwich bar as well as groceries. Combine it with a library visit farther east. Sahara West Library, at 9600 West Sahara, offers curbside pickup of items on hold, art galleries, storytimes and study rooms, with parking on the north and west sides of the building.

For quiet study, the Library District’s room reservation service offers free rooms if you have a valid library card. The rooms can’t be used for business. They suit studying, not meeting clients. A booked library room is also a different thing from a table at a coffee shop.
A neighborhood loop or a Calico Basin boardwalk
Ridgebrook Park, on Ridgehollow Drive, is a short outing south of Red Rock Country Club. It has a half-mile concrete loop, its own parking and restrooms at the trailhead, so the walk is easy to plan. There is also a field, a picnic pavilion and a small splash pad; whether the splash pad is running depends on the season.
Gardens Park gives a different reason to head east. It has bocce and horseshoes as well as basketball, tennis, volleyball and roller hockey. The Summerlin Council’s park rules let anyone use park areas that aren’t reserved. Booking a shade structure and using resident programs or pools fall under separate association rules; visiting a public park doesn’t mean you can use every Summerlin facility.

For a nature outing, Red Spring in Calico Basin is reached from State Route 159 (SR-159) by way of Calico Basin Road. The BLM (the federal Bureau of Land Management) says its boardwalk, about 0.6 miles long, is accessible with standard mobility devices and strollers. You don’t need a fee or a reservation to park and walk the trail, but the group picnic pavilion is booked separately. Red Rock Canyon’s Scenic Drive is a different outing, with its own fee and timed entry in some seasons.
Trails in the area are also changing. Save Red Rock reported that the first phase of the Red Rock Legacy Trail opened in April 2026. Only that first part is open; don’t assume you can use the whole planned route, or walk or ride all the way from a Red Rock Country Club home. If you want it for regular walks or rides, check the project’s latest access information.
Public skating, then check the schools
City National Arena’s Open Skate is public indoor skating near Downtown Summerlin, with no country-club membership needed. You register, pay and sign a waiver online, then check in at the rink. Look for Open Skate, the public sessions; Freestyle is for more advanced skaters. Check the live calendar for a session that fits your day.
For schools, go by the exact address. A check of two home addresses, one in East and one in West, returned Goolsby Elementary, Victoria Fertitta Middle and Palo Verde High for 2026–27. Those results are for those two addresses only, not every home in either area. Enter the exact address of the home you’re considering in the CCSD school locator (CCSD is the Clark County School District) and choose the school year you need. Bus eligibility is a separate check.

The three schools lie in different directions: Goolsby is on West Desert Inn, Fertitta is southeast on Mesa Vista, and Palo Verde is north on Pavilion Center. Plan the school drop-offs together with your drive to work. Clark County Safekey, the before- and after-school care program, lists Goolsby, but you must register and pay ahead, places are limited, and it doesn’t run when school is out. A trip to Ridgebrook Park with a parent after pickup is not the same as a booked Safekey place.
Before you buy
Put the home, access and costs together.
Budget for the HOA, the club and the home separately.
Ask for the current association documents for the exact home: dues, what the owner must maintain, and any assessments (charges on top of the dues). Get the club’s terms separately for the membership you would use: joining fees, any minimum you must spend on food, guest rules and the rules for transferring it. Don’t assume the seller’s membership passes to you with the house.
Then add the home’s own taxes, insurance and upkeep of the house and yard. The mortgage calculator can help you put the home’s figures together. One old dues figure for the neighborhood would miss both what the owner is responsible for and the club choices that change Red Rock Country Club’s costs.
Use the right gate, then time your real trips.

For showings, deliveries and service visits, arrange to come in through the right main gate. Resident-only gates aren’t a shortcut for guests. To time a commute or an airport run, drive it from the house, out through the exit it is allowed to use, at the hour you would really go. An early-morning estimate from the gatehouse to a store leaves out the drive inside the community and any wait at the gate.
If school matters, drive the school run too; don’t assume the three nearby schools are on one route. And a short line on a map doesn’t mean you are allowed to walk through a gate or across a school campus.
Check the home’s records against what matters to you.
For a remodeled home, ask for the records of the work that changed its layout or outdoor areas. If you are buying for the view, find out what the land beyond the lot is and check any plans for it; don’t assume the view will stay. If the home faces the course, look at it during normal play as well as during a quiet showing.
Put what you learn into a shortlist that notes each home’s gate, how it fits your needs and your plans for golf and other activities. Contact Julia about Red Rock Country Club to set up that comparison and the questions to answer before you make an offer.
A few more questions
Questions about Red Rock Country Club.
Is Red Rock Country Club part of the Summerlin master plan?
Summerlin’s developer says it is not technically part of the master plan. Summerlin’s shops and public parks are close by, but check whether the actual address qualifies for Summerlin resident programs.
Are golf and club privileges included with a home?
Not automatically. Owning a home doesn’t by itself give you club privileges. The Mountain course and the sports and social facilities each need a membership. Arroyo is public golf that you pay for separately. Ask for the current terms for the activities you want.
Which gate should visitors use?
The HOA sends guests and vendors to a main gatehouse: East at 2455 Red Springs Drive or West at 2505 Red Springs Drive. Ask your host or showing agent which gate to use and to arrange your entry. Resident-only gates are not for visitors.
Which public schools serve Red Rock Country Club?
Two addresses checked, one in East and one in West, returned Goolsby Elementary, Victoria Fertitta Middle and Palo Verde High for 2026–27. That doesn’t mean every home is assigned there. Check the exact address and school year in the CCSD (Clark County School District) locator, and check bus eligibility separately.
Are ZIP 89135 market figures specific to this community?
No. ZIP code 89135 covers a wider market than Red Rock Country Club. Keep single-family figures separate from condo and townhouse figures, and compare a home with similar homes when judging it. The Census Bureau’s figures for the ZIP area also cover more than this community, and describe past years.
